Defeated Creek Camping trip, Memorial Day Weekend

Our Camp SiteKelly and Kerry

The Happy Campers

Breakfast

Fifi roughing it too.
We decided that it would be fun to go camping this past weekend. It was my idea.. Can you believe it? No, I am not a camper but we had an awesome time. I can't wait to do it again. We went to Defeated Creek. It is near Carthage, TN. I was really impressed with how clean everything was. We had a great camp site, even though whomever was there before us didn't clean up after their dog.. If ya know what I mean. Yes, I cleaned up after Fifi. I took disposable bags with me.
We went fishing Sunday afternoon, after we set up camp. Fifi was chasing Kelly's Bass plug. It was so funny, I wished I had a video camera so I could have taped it. We laughed our butts off at her. She did good. She whined when ever I left her with Kelly to go to the bathroom, but other than that she was good. Kerry had a great time, we went to the beach and she swam. The water was just a little too cool for me. I did put Fifi in the water to swim to Kerry but, she was having no part of that and was mad at us the rest of the day. HA... We roasted hot dogs and marsh mellows for supper. We were kinda hoping we could have fish, but had no luck catching anything.
Breakfast was an adventure. I forgot tongs to flip the bacon so I used Kelly's fillet knife, I forgot a spoon to scramble the eggs in the skillet so we used the stick we roasted hot dogs with. Kelly scrambled the eggs over the fire for me.. The smoke was just a little too much for me. I did have plates and forks to eat on. Don't give me a hard time... I told you.. I am not a camper...
Now, if anyone has a camper they would like to give to The Blackdawgs, just know that we will take good care of it and use it often.. I think I am turning into a camper...
Family time, you just can't beat it.... Here's hoping that our next adventure is just as fun.

MCHS Graduation

Friday night May 23,2008, Macon County High School Karen, Matthew, Kyle and Jean

Kyle and his favorite cousin Angie

"The Graduate"
I can't believe that Kyle has graduate High School! 20 Years ago, I graduated high school and now my little cousin graduated. It is hard to believe that he is that old... I AM THAT OLD!!! It was an awesome feeling with tugging at the heart strings too. Yes, I teared up.. I can't help it, I am tender hearted.. Sheila, David, Matthew and Lester also came to cheer Kyle on. I couldn't believe Matthew when I saw him. I guess I was still expecting him to be the little boy I meet many years ago. Matthew is 25 years old, has 2 beautiful sons and is going thru a divorce. I really hate that for him.
Sheila told Aunt Jean that Doug (Sharon's boyfriend) has a new girlfriend that is living with them. Come on on now... Sharon has been gone for 4 months and he already has moved another woman in with him.... Aunt Jean was ticked off.. And that is a nice way of saying that. Of course she didn't hold her tongue and went straight to Kyle when she found out. Screwed up his night I am sure. She is a little too impulsive... Poor Kyle, his Mom and Dad are gone and now Grandma is freaking out on him... He does not need to let people run all over him, but let him enjoy his night. Matthew also told me that Kyle lived by himself for a month because, Doug moved out for a while to live with his girlfriend then moved her in with Kyle.. Remember there is no relation here, just his Mom's boyfriend. Can anyone say free-loader?
At least Kyle did keep it together these last few months and graduated with his class. Other than all the drama we had a great time and are so proud of Kyle and his accomplishments.
WAY TO GO KYLE!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

She Passed!!!

Thank Goodness! She only lacked 2 points in Math from being on the Honor Roll. Hopefully she will apply herself better next year. She was also glad that she passed. I think she was kinda worried. I called her around 9:30 am to see if she passed. I couldn't’t wait till I got home. Kelly talked to her about spending the summer alone at the house. I think we are going to let her try it.
Tonight we are going to MCHS for graduation for my cousin Kyle. I really fill sorry for him tonight. I can’t imagine not having my parents around for such a life changing event. I bought him a card that I thought Greg and Sharon would have bought for him if they were here. I really felt that Greg and Sharon led me to buy that card for him. I tried to buy him things that I thought he would need in the dorm room that he wouldn’t have thought of.
I know my 2nd semester of freshman year, my cousin Donna sent me a duffel bag full of stuff that I really needed but just didn’t get. That was an awesome care package. I am going to try to make sure that I send Kyle a care package each month, just so he knows that someone is thinking of him.
We are also going camping this weekend at Defeated Creek. This should be fun since, I am not that keen on camping and Kelly and Kerry loves it. Hopefully no blood will be shed from either parties… Please Pray that I don’t get freaked out..
Thank you to our troops who are fighting for my safety and my freedom. May God Bless you all.

No She Didn't

This is the final week of school and also finals. Guess who threw all of her papers away? Yep, you guessed it... KERRY!!! OK, now if she was exempt from finals, I wouldn't have a hard time about her throwing her papers away, but this is a kid who's struggling in school. Kelly was upset with her, but didn't say a whole lot. As you all know Kelly doesn't get upset over a lot of things. He just told her that if she failed she would not be going to Summer School. Of course if it was up to me I would have beat her, made her call a class mate, take her to that person's house, she would hand write all of the study guide and then studied till her eyes bled... Good thing I am not the Momma!!! HA! OK, so I exaggerate a tad bit, but come on folks, it's not like she has a IQ of 200.
Kerry did say that she made an 82 on her Math final... Wow, she could have been making grades like that all year but of course MOM doesn't give a flip about school, so she didn't push Kerry to excel (at anything).
So, Friday will be the day that tells the Tale. I sure hope she passes, because if she doesn't I'll probably have a heart attack....

GIRLS NIGHT OUT

These 2 are two of my buddies. We have know each other for the last 8 years. It all began when I started working at BMA. Christy was in shipping and Paula was a purchasing agent. We hit it off like we had know each other for years. Christy and Paula already knew each other from working together at a restaurant. Paula and I are sisters from just becoming co-workers. They both have beautiful children and we all 3 have pulled each other through thick and thin. I love these Girls.. Saturday night we had a Girls night Out. We went to eat at Cheddars and then went to Chases. We danced our booties off and laughed our booties off. It was great being with them and catching up. The best thing about both of them is we hardly ever get to see each other but when we do see each other it's like we just saw each other yesterday.

Thanks Christy and Paula for a great night out... Love you girls!!

THE TEARS FLOW

I was reading my cousin Kelly's blog of her little sweetheart Cade and saw that she had a new blog that she read and I linked to it:http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com/. Oh goodness, I felt like many of the words she had written are the things that I feel about my own loss. Even though I never met my baby I feel like it was a boy and I know that the baby knew that he is loved.

I know that the pain of the loss of a child never goes away, it just gets easier, but for me it seems to have gotten harder. I am sure that it is the fact that I will never carry a child in a womb that no loner exists. Please don't think, I am playing the pity party, this is something that I need to get off my chest. The whole thing is painful. The above blogger's name is also Angie. Wow, I know that God has lead me to her site for a reason. She co-wrote a song with her husband that Is absolutely beautiful and states many of the things that I feel everyday. It is called "I Will Carry You". Please visit the site and read the words.

I trust in the Lord and know that he has wonderful plans in store for me and will lead me as I go. I trust that the Lord will keep my eyes open so that I will see his plan in work. Sometimes it hard not to question why God has allowed something to happen. In Sunday School class we had this very discussion and our study book that we are using states that we should question our faith because it allows us to grow as Christians because we want to search for the answers.

I just ask that you pray that the pain gets easier and that God's will be done. Visit the above site..

She's playing us both

Yep, that's what kids do, but come on she knows she'll get caught...
Last night after Karate I got home and Kelly was messing around in the yard and Kerry was cooking supper. I ask her how her day was at school and she asks me if Grandma can pick her up at school on Friday. I asked why and she said that it was only a half day as long as she can get a note from a parent saying she could leave early and someone would pick her up.
OK, I am suspicious... ME: what about 4th, 5th and 6th period?
Kerry: we won't be counted absent..
ME:OK, school is out next week, meaning finals are next week... Don't you need to know what is on the finals?
Kerry:Nope, they are telling us on Thursday....
ME:I think you need to discuss that with your Dad.

Then I make a comment that she hasn't filled out her application to McD's.
Kerry: They don't hire 15 year olds..
Me: How do you know that they don't hire 15 year olds?
Kerry: Someone at school told me.
Me: Really? Are they in MGT?
Kerry: I don't know but they work there...
ME: OK, why don't you go ahead and fill out the application and let Dad take you there and let someone in MGT tell you that they don't hire 15 year olds.
Kerry: OK, will you help me?
ME: Sure, if you need it...
So, honey comes in and I tell him that Kerry doesn't want to fill out her application and he gets mad and tells her that He said to fill out the application and let MGT tell her that they don't hire 15 year olds... WHAT??? Is he kidding?? He told her exactly what I said only he said it first? ARE you kidding me??? I let that slide then I say something to him about the school thing and then he proceeds to tell me that he told Kerry that he has to have something from the school, I advise that maybe he calls the school to get more info and honey agrees.
Wow, he is taking more charge... Thanks Kelly,
So, does that sound like she is playing us to anyone but me? Funny how Kelly and I are on the same page!!! It has taken 5 years but FINALLY on the same page. Yea!!! Blackwell's..... Yea, Kelly and Angie!!!
I don't Kelly actually caught on that Kerry was trying to play us, but he set her straight...

Back to supper, Kerry was cooking Barts for us and didn't cook them thoroughly, I bit into mine and Kelly said Don't take another bite.. It's still pink in the middle, so we nuked them for about 6 mins till they were nice and done... We then made homemade strawberry cheesecake ice cream for dessert... Can we say a BIG YUM-O!!! OMG, that was the best ice cream EVER!!!

Kelly then decided he wanted to go coon hunting since it is suppose to rain tonight, Kerry wanted to go soo bad, but since it was a school night she couldn't go. She made a friend of hers a picture with a butterfly and her name on it. I wished I had taken a picture of it, BEAUTIFUL!! Maybe, she didn't take it to school today and I can take a picture of it tonight. Kelly didn't get home till 12:30, NO, I did not wait up for him... I need my sleep.... I love to sleep.... I gots to sleep....
He left one of the dogs out.. Lil' Bit, I guess she is still hunting.. She is not my favorite, but I hope she is OK... Maybe she'll go to Marks and hang out with his dogs till we get home this afternoon and go look for her.

PARTY!!!!

Happy Mother's Day 2008. This is my Aunt Jean, me and my Momma. Aunt Jean sure does look a lot like my Granny. Of course me and Momma look alike. When ever I am in town, if I see someone we both know, I am usually called Karen 1st. We had a good time visiting. We had smoked meat that my Daddy cooked, macaroni salad, grape salad, apple turnovers, coleslaw with peaches and pecan pie. Yum-o!!! This is Kelly, Uncle Joe and Daddy taking it easy while the ladies are in the kitchen talking. Uncle Joe has Alzheimer's and is slowly getting worse. It's really sad to see him this way. He has started drooling and has to wear depends because he forgets to go to the bathroom. Uncle Joe was always an outside person, working in the garden, mowing, weed eating, you name it... As long as he was outside he was happy. Now he can bearly walk outside.

This is the Beers' Family. Krissa, Hannah, Bubba(James) and Daniel. Saturday we (Me, Momma & Kerry) went to Smithville to Daniel's 11th birthday party. It was at a park in Smithville. Little Hannah quit breathing Friday Night. They rushed her to the ER but the Dr. couldn't figure out what happened. She is now wearing a heart and breathing monitor. She is so cute!!! I asked Daniel if he was scared Friday night and he said: " Aunt Angie, I cried". I told him that it is OK to cry especially if you are scared. He kept asking Diane if his baby sister was gonna live. he is the sweetest thing to Hannah. He is a great Big Brother... We had fun at the party, just family.. I was glad to finally meet "Bubba from the Lake". That is all I knew him by. Bubba works for Alan Jackson... Nope, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Alan yet. Maybe, one day! yeah Right!!
Bubba is great to Daniel. You can tell he really loves Dan-O. I am so glad, because Daniel really needs a good Male figure in his life.
This is Daniel, Hannah and Memaw(Diane-Krissa's Mom). Hannah loves her Dan-O. I kept telling Hannah how much her Aunt Angie loves her and Daniel asked me if I really was her Aunt. I said of course I am, I am your Aunt Angie aren't I. he said yep you are so yep you are Hannah's Aunt Angie... HA!! I have a wonderful messed up family... Too many steps, halves, sorta's// Yep we are so messed up. But lucky because we have a lot of love going on...

BLANKETS 4 THE HOMELESS

Last night I was blessed to met and awesome couple who are collecting blankets for the Homeless of Nashville. I am President of the HUMW and was in charge of the meeting last night. Unfortunately, only one person showed up other than Kerry and I. Sonya gave a wonderful testimony about how God led her to help the Homeless by providing them blankets. Her husband Charles is surely a Man of God. You can just feel God's love around both of them.

What A Blessing it was to meet them!!!!!!

Kerry wants to do a blanket drive next semester to help out the homeless. WOW!! She is such a caring person.

I hope that anyone who reads this post will feel lead to start collecting blankets for the homeless...

I am Famous!

My yellow Iris picture was on News Channel 5 this morning! I missed it. Kelly was watching TV and getting ready and told me my pic was on TV. I thought he was telling a lie. Luckily we have a DVR and he rewound it for me and I saw it! Thanks Leland!!! I was so excited. Several people at work saw it.
I called my Mom to see if she saw and of course she watches channel 4. Come on Mom!

Last night was our last counseling session. Kerry said she was glad it's over, kinda... She is so funny. She dreads going then we leave, she hates to leave.

Well, I am busy, I just wanted ya to know I am published! HA
